First, I would like to thank Master Seo for this opportunity to share with you, our future students.

My name is Dean, I am 48 years old, and side-by-side with my wife and two teenage sons, have been training in the martial arts for nine years. We are a family of second degree black belts and our oldest son is a staff member at Seo's National Karate. I have been a public school teacher for over twenty years.

As a martial arts practitioner, I have experienced all the personal benefits that come with athletic activity including increased energy, good health, the reward of accomplishments, camaraderie, etc. However, please allow me this opportunity to speak as a husband, parent and educator.

Nothing tops the joy of seeing your child succeed unless it's succeeding with him. I will never forget receiving my first black belt, standing along side my son. Later, he told me the same thing about standing there with me. The next year found our entire family receiving promotions together. That sense of teamwork and accomplishment has transcended into all aspects of our family relationships including our work and our boy's school.

Master Seo has developed a program that offers challenges and rewards at all levels of training and for all ages and abilities. Professional educators refer to this as “scaffolding”: Creating a series of appropriately challenging goals that allow individual learners the opportunity to succeed. Seo's National Karate accomplishes this without compromising the art of traditional values. It is not about kicking and punching. Rather, it is about the development of the individual as a lifetime learner.
